Reliable Dentistry for Developing Smiles

Dr. Alan L Rubin knows that first impressions can last a lifetime.  His dental office in Rochelle Park, New Jersey, makes every effort to meet the unique needs of children.  By providing a safe environment that serves the entire family, children are encouraged to feel more at ease in our dental office.  Children interact with parents and siblings, giving them a sense of familiarity and safety. Dr. Rubin encourages treatment for children by their second birthday, to set a good standard for oral care later in life.

Treatment with Compassion

Routine exams for children are like an adult checkup, but deciduous (baby) teeth differ from adult teeth and need specialized care.  Since the condition of children’s teeth need to be maintained until adult teeth appear, cleanings to remove plaque from teeth and gums are essential, especially as children typically do not clean as well as they should.  X-rays are only taken when necessary, to reveal any problems.  X-rays are never taken routinely.

Sealants are an excellent preventive measure used to prevent cavities by filling grooves in teeth that trap food particles and cause cavities.  If necessary, fillings are comfortably placed to avoid future decay.  Baby teeth are treated with Fluoride Varnish, a protective mineral, that strengthens the enamel of the tooth to help prevent decay.

Early Education

Our Rochelle Park dentist takes advantage of early visits to educate children on the importance of good oral hygiene and healthy teeth.  He demonstrates how to brush and floss teeth effectively.  In fact, Dr. Rubin has been visiting local area elementary schools during Dental Health Month in February, every year for over 30 years.  He educates the children about the value of a healthy mouth, good nutrition, and a beautiful smile.
